When should I contact ValuedVoice Negotiators, before or after someone reaches out, wanting me to speak?
Contact ValuedVoice Negotiators at any time—before or after someone reaches out to you. The sooner, the better, though. Once you complete the ValuedVoice Intake Form and become a member of ValuedVoice, a member of our team will be in touch to get you closer to getting paid what you’re worth.
What happens once I submit the ValuedVoice Intake Form?
ValuedVoice Negotiators then conducts an intake call to learn about you, your business, and your speaker fee goals. We collaborate with you to establish your competitive speaker fees and to discuss next steps for engaging us in your next Speaker Fee Conversation.
How do I bring ValuedVoice Negotiators into a conversation with a prospect?
Let ValuedVoice know when the call is, and we’re there! After you have completed your intake call with us, all you need to do is submit a Speaker Fee Conversation Request Form, then we’re ready to get you paid.
What happens when ValuedVoice Negotiators is conducting a Speaker Fee Conversation call?
After you discuss/recap your programming (topic and logistics such as date and location), you turn over the call to us, “your sales associate,” and we have the Speaker Fee Conversation to discuss price with your prospect. We don’t strong-arm, and we don’t beg. ValuedVoice acts as a member of your team and in your best interest to conduct a professional conversation with the goal of arriving at a fee that is reasonable and fair for both you, the speaker, and your prospect. After settling on and confirming a mutually agreed upon speaker fee, your team then sends to your point of contact/prospect your speaker contract and an invoice.
Does ValuedVoice set up the call with the prospect?
No. You will have to set up the call with the prospect/event contact that wants to hire you. After you submit to us your Speaker Fee Conversation Request Form, ValuedVoice Negotiators joins the call as your sales associate to conduct the Speaker Fee Conversation.
Do I have any say in determining my speaker fee?
Yes. Absolutely! ValuedVoice collaborates with you to create your speaker fee sheet, plus we discuss and align on the proposed speaker fee for each engagement before getting on the call with your prospect.
What is the greatest amount for which ValuedVoice Negotiators has ever gotten one speaker confirmed for an engagement?
The most we’ve gotten a speaker confirmed for is $36,500 for 2.5 hours of speaking.
Does ValuedVoice Negotiators partner with all speakers?
ValuedVoice Negotiators works with new speakers who speak on a wide array of topics. We support speakers who have five (5) or fewer years on the stage, speakers who have secured five (5) or fewer paid speaking engagements to date, or speakers who are simply not satisfied with the compensation they are receiving. We do not partner with any speaker whose message promotes violence; hate speech; bigotry; intolerance; discrimination; or harassment including on the basis of race, nationality, religion, culture, or gender.
How much does ValuedVoice charge for this service, and when do I pay you?
ValuedVoice charges you 10% of your speaker fee. We require a $100 refundable deposit to attend a Speaker Fee Conversation Call. If your speaking fee is confirmed for more than $1,000, then the remaining payment (the difference between $100 and 10% of your speaker fee) is due to us within five (5) days after the conclusion of your speaking engagement. Your deposit is refunded if ValuedVoice is unable to arrive at a mutually agreeable speaker fee.
